Shaftesbury Snowdrops Festival

One of Shaftesbury’s more unique attributes is the annual Snowdrop Festival. The festival was founded in 2012 to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The festival is a free event and is one of the biggest in the country. Enabling access to a variety of trails around the town for wheelchair users and families with pushchairs. Snowdrops on the BBC

The festival featured on BBC Countryfile in 2020 and including interviews with organisers and locals who were enjoying the  event. You can watch the film on the panel next door. 

Shaftesbury Snowdrop Festival in 2024

The next Snowdrop Festival will run from 10th – 17th February 2024.

The highlight will be the return of the Snowdrop Study Day on Sunday 11th February with guest speakers at Shaftesbury Arts Centre, followed
by our famous snowdrop sale “The Best in the West”.
The finale of the festival will be our snowdrop lantern parade and dancing by Steps in Time.
